Conner Prairie is an interactive history park, kind of like Colonial Williamsburg for Hoosiers. It seems most kids in Indiana get to visit the park during elementary school, but I never got to go since we moved here when I was in 5th grade. EM wanted to check out their Randall steers, so we decided to meet up there.
I had so much fun! The weather was chilly/drizzly, but since there were so few people, it really felt like a private tour. (By the way, they gave me a great military discount, so THANK YOU Conner Prairie!)
We got to pet some ducks, goats, sheep, and cows... I think I enjoyed the animals the best, and EM definitely did too! I even got to check another thing off my 'Before I'm 30' list by milking a cow! We had hot apple cider (perfect on a cool day) and really enjoyed the visit. You're never too old for this kind of stuff.
We ate dinner at Brugge, a favorite gastropub of EM/CM, and it was AWESOME. Their frites are amazing. I had steak frites, with a crepe dessert... delish. I tasted EM's beer, which was so good I could drink it by the pint: the Tripel de Ripple!
I couldn't think of a better way to spend a day in the Hoosier Heartland.
