My grandmother has always sewn, and I remember her having five or six sewing machines at one time in her sewing room. My mother can mend and hem, and she used to make sundresses and Halloween costumes for my sister and me. I, on the other hand, briefly dabbled in cross-stitching and am afraid of sewing machine needles piercing my fingers. In spite of this, I am determined to become proficient and at least learn to mend things. If it turns out to be something I enjoy, I might end up making my own wardrobe of beautiful clothes someday!
There are so many things I want to do and learn... also on my list is to learn to play guitar, speak Korean, and use a DSLR camera.
I found a fabric store in Savannah that offers classes, and I can tell it is frequented by SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) students... including one that is currently on Project Runway! I am bummed I've missed so much Runway, but hopefully I will catch it in a marathon of re-runs later.
I can't wait to get started! Check out the fabric store link (and blog with tutorials!) below.
Always,
Aubrey
