Girl Crushing: Nashville Bloggers

Today I wanted to give a shoutout to the Nashville Bloggers in my sidebar, who are all wonderful people I am acquainted with in real life.  As in face to face.  Meeting bloggers in real life feels so meta!

When I first moved to the area (like a year and a half ago, y'all!), I started following some local blogs to learn more about my new city.  That led to some Twitter conversations where I believe it was Jenna who was like, "What, you're local?  Come meet up with us!"  I remember agonizing over what I was going to wear, buying a dozen mini bundt cakes so I wouldn't show up empty-handed, and heading nervously to Lauren's house to meet these women who I felt were infinitely cooler than me.
Not only were they awesome, they were so warm and welcoming!  That one meetup, where I felt so embarrassingly awkward has led to Twitter convos, movie/dinner/lunch lady dates, shopping trips, and carpooling to our monthly gatherings.  It fascinates me how unique each person in the group is!

So I'm taking this post to push you to check out these ladies in my sidebar.  Because chances are, one of them is the perfect fit for you...  I mean, there's knitting, restaurant reviews, law school, outfit posts, sewing, book-making, baking, reading, homemaking, CATS!, makeup/beauty, babies, TV/pop culture, vintage, cycling, kitschy, home decor, hilarity, SWEARING, and our handsome significant others with varying levels of tattoo ink and facial hair.

I'm proud to call these girls my friends, because moving here would not have been the same without them.  Read their blogs, because you'll love them just as much as I do.

Meetup at DeSano's Pizza

Note: I departed before the Gray's photo op to go take an Accounting Final.
Full of regrets, for many reasons, and because ACCOUNTING.

  4. Hey Margarita! I actually did a 10-miler up at Fort Campbell in March. We have an informal group that meets about once a month, though we are taking a break in the busy summer months. Those are the ladies you see in my sidebar. (E-mail me for a link to our Google list.) There's also another group that I'm not active with at http://www.facebook.com/BlogNashville.

Also, I'm looking for a friend to do the Nashville Women's Half Marathon with me in the fall. I'm registered to do the Disney Marathan in January so I want to do a half as part of training. Let me know if you're interested!

  5. I would have been at that 10-miler but I went to Orlando for the inaugural Best Damn Race 10K. Small world.

I'd love to buddy up. I'm thinking about the Nashville Half and a few other races. The Army 10 Miler and Nike Women's Half (if I get the lottery entry) are definite yeses. Rock n Roll Vegas is a maybe and I'm not sure if I want to do a Disney race or Rock n Roll Nashville again in the spring.

This is what I've got planned for now:
June 21 Warrior Challenge Fort Campbell, KY (ECFT)
July 12 Light Your Night 5K Glow Run Hopkinsville, KY Untimed
Aug. 9 The Zombie Run St. Louis, MO Untimed
Sept. 13 Trot for the Troops 10K Hopkinsville, KY (ECFT)
Sept. 27 Nashville Women's Running Series Half
Oct. 12 Army 10 Miler Washington, D.C. (ECFT)
Oct. 20 Nike Womens Half Marathon San Francisco, CA
Nov. 16 Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Las Vegas, NV

Are you from Florida? I've got lots of theme park/Orlando tips if you need them. :)

  6. No, I'm not from Florida, but I've been to Disney a bunch of times. Let's do the September 27th race!
