I don't watch Mad Men, but I'm a little obsessed with the photos I've seen of the wardrobe! I am in love with the wiggle dresses, A-line skirts, and other looks from this 1960s period show. I think I was meant to wear clothing from another era...
So as I itch to learn to become my own seamstress, I've been searching the Simplicity website to find patterns similar to these dresses that I could hypothetically someday make... the options seem endless, when you think about choosing your own fabrics and tailoring the fit, right? Once again, my cart is before my horse. But a girl can dream, right?
Always,
Aubrey
I agree, the magic of sewing is that you can take a pattern and make it your own awesome/monstrous creation through choosing materials and finishing touches. I recently inherited Grandma LeBeau's table-top sewing machine and really need to give it a whirl.
ReplyDeleteJust remember...with great sewing comes great responsibility.
