Sunday Lately: Doing, Appreciating, Designing, Humming, Expecting

Two weeks in a row?  Woo!  Check out what I'm up to lately.

DOING...
I've been reading more during my travels, so when I saw that Charles Duhigg wrote a new book (I'd blogged about The Power of Habit before!), I had to pick it up.  When it comes to books that are for professional development, I tend to purchase them in "hard copy" instead of for my Kindle app... because I highlight, write, etc. in them.  Yes, I write in them, they're mine, deal with it!  This book is already making me reconsider some of my own habits and behaviors in order to be more productive.

APPRECIATING...
I'm appreciating time at home.  There was this two-week period where I was either traveling/living in hotels, visiting with family, or hosting my mother-in-law at our place.  This weekend has felt like the first respite from being outside our normal routine.  I'm doing loads and loads of laundry, cooking, tidying, grocery shopping, refueling my car, and more.

DESIGNING...

I'm contemplating changing my blog name...  Something shorter that rolls off the tongue, something that will continue to be descriptive of my blog no matter where life takes us.  Hrm.

HUMMING...

I'm not really humming anything, unless it's the themes to the podcasts I listen to!  I've been really tired lately, using all my brainpower at work.  I need to spend my evenings being more productive, as I've gotten some sponsored blog posts, freelance work, and more that will be good for me.

EXPECTING...
I don't know... it's that weird?  I'm kind of expecting to continue to feel tired, but desiring to be more productive.  I suppose I'm expecting that I'll continue to drink every so often to calm my poor nerves. LOL

#Accessorize Ambush! at Opry Mills

Disclosure:  This post is in partnership with Opry Mills, my local mall.

As I teased in my previous post, I was invited to one of our local Nashville malls, Opry Mills, to help promote their Accessorize Your Spring Sale.  From Saturday, May 7th, through Tuesday, May 31st, you can find blow-out deals on accessories, on top of the everyday discounts of up to 70% off at the mall's retailers.

My job?  Ambush FIVE lucky shoppers, adding accessories featuring the latest trends to their wardrobe.  The best part?  These accessories total to $50 or less per shopper, AND they got to keep their goods after modeling.  Great deal, yeah?

This shopper had recently lost her wallet, so we gave her a chance to replace hers!  The metallic of the sunglasses and the bright blue of the wallet made her outfit pop more for spring.  I love that she excited enough to attach her car keys to the wallet right away!

This shopper loved the understated (but shiny and versatile!) look of kate spade, with a jeweled ball necklace and large studs.  The pieces made her casual maxi dress look a little brighter, don't you think?

This shopper was dressed casually for a walk through the mall, but with an added floral scarf from kate spade, her eyes stood out more and her whole outfit looked more spring-y too.

I had so much fun with this shopper!  She had a casual, bright outfit on already, and the striped clutch we chose from J. Crew definitely added a great pop to her look.  She also liked the strap inside the clutch to turn it into a shoulder purse.

My last shopper was super fun to style!  She gravitated towards an American Eagle hat, and ti was her idea to add the floral purse from Nine West!  I think her look was already beautiful and on trend, and the hat and purse actually made it more of a daytime spring look overall.

I had so much fun collaborating with Opry Mills to bring a little *pop* of accessories to these shoppers.  You can join the fun too by visiting the mall now, through the end of the month, to take advantage of the great sales!

Funfetti Gooey Bars

I'm completely behind on blog posts because my travel schedule has been insane, so I'm leaving you with a terribly unhealthy but rich and delicious dessert idea to keep you (literally) hungry for more!

Want to make a rich, delicious dessert that you'll have trouble not consuming all by yourself every time you walk by it?  One that's super easy to make and ridiculously unhealthy but amazing just the same?  Look no further, because I found it.

I've used Paula Deen's recipes for gooey butter cakes before, but this recipe that I found via Pinterest took it to a whole new level.  It was a simply mix, layer, and bake dessert recipe, and so tasty I had to share it in a brief blog post because it was a WIN.   You could even slice these kind of small (like half a brownie square) to serve because it's soooooo rich and sweet and good.  I kept grabbing more every time I passed them in the kitchen.

This recipe uses a small number of ingredients for a huge payout.  Check out the recipe at Crazy for Crust if you want to make this on your own!

Have you baked anything delicious lately??
